Xosar, de son vrai nom Sheela Rahman est un être lunaire et surnaturel, une it girl underground émergente, au rayonnement planétaire. Elle est l’ange du bizarre qui nous amène dans une odyssée de science-fiction où sa musique aux ondulations cérébrales résonne sur des mélanges de sons spectraux de deep techno profonde, de minimal, techno nerd, d’electro ambient et aérienne. On décolle.
Cette productrice bidouilleuse de machines est née à San Jose en Californie, a grandi à San Francisco et vit aujourd’hui à la Haye aux Pays-Bas avec le dj et producteur néerlandais Legowelt (aka Danny Wolfers).
La Xosar mystérieuse a commencé à mixer en 2011, juste après ses études de neuropsychologie à l’université.
Elle sort son premier album Tropical Cruize sur L.I.E.S, label avec lesquels Legowelt s’était déjà aventuré. Le couple s’appelait à l’époque Trackman Lafonte & Bonquiqui (alias la Surfer House), sur Creme Organization, le label DJ TLR. Leur clip A Paradise So Real est un mélange de free style et de cyberpunk. Ils étaient jeunes !
Xosar était en parallèle graphiste autodidacte et produisait des artworks aux couleurs acidulées utilisés pour ses eps sur les labels Rush Hour et Creme, puis pour des artistes comme Skrillex entre autres.
Son deuxième ep intitulé Ghosthouse sort sur le label phare Rush Hour. Puis vient les tubes The Calling, Voodoo Castle (feat. backing vox from Legowelt) ou bien Nite Jam aux accords dub, aux basses profondes et à l’atmosphère spectrale filtrée. Un style unique et enchanteur.
Wolfers et Sheela travaillent désormais sous l’égide Xamiga, des tracks plus dark, une exploration aux lueurs paranormales. Ce projet englobe Oceania qui rassemble un ep de trois titres aux mélanges « aquatiques » : Xosheeba + Oceania + Atlantis Force Code, sorti récemment sur le label M-Division.
Ils mixent dans des événements influents tels que le Dekmantel Festival Elevate, Boiler Room Live Show, le Panorama Bar, le Trouw à Amsterdam, Warehouse Location à New-York…
Cette créature aux yeux de chat et au visage d’elfe sort tout droit d’une galaxie gothique où la mémoire d’outre tombe aime les dark passages et l’appel des sons célestes.
Ses longues errances à travers les forêts sombres l’aide à canaliser les énergies de la nature et ses symboles. Elle en produit un profond son techno au mélange sensuel, exotique, aux couleurs musicales particulières. La sorcière nous jette un sort et nous fait boire son Elixir of Dreams (track produite après son fameux concert à Détroit et ses longues déambulations dans les rues désertes et fantomatiques de la ville), qui ouvre la porte de ses songes. Bienvenue dans son étrange paradis.
Elle sample sa voix qui résonne en choeurs psychédéliques, souvent remixés par Legowelt qui apporte un mouvement d’oscillations aux mixes. C’est le flux cosmique, nous sommes au sein même d’une seule onde. Nos âmes flottent dans les contrebas, au rythme des basses et des claps. Leurs échos percutent les brouillards de chants de déesses indiennes. La ligne de synthé est sombre et psyché, les basses sont gothiques, les beats envoûtants. C’est un paysage sonore mystique dans la succursale de forces parallèles d’une maison fantôme de Détroit.
Xosar aime s’entourer de livres sur l’occultisme, le chamanisme, le paranormal. Les sons recherchés à travers ses vieux synthés analogiques (un Jupiter-8 et son précieux Electribe ESX échantillonneur) confirment cette croyance et cette fascination. En effet, ces engins créent des bandes planantes, conçus pour remplir l’atmosphère, qui selon elle « aide l’humanité à augmenter son niveau de conscience« .
Elle vit dans ce royaume surnaturel, peuplé de tigres et de cristaux. Elle possède d’ailleurs un tigre qui vit à Tennessee dans le sud des Etats-Unis…
Xosar était invitée à Paris le 13 juillet sur la péniche River’s King pour la Katapult Summer Boat organisée par le label Karat, aux côtés du prestigieux Acid Arab. La djette revient dans la capitale en live ce samedi au Rex Club pour une KATAPULT en compagnie de Legowelt, MZKBX et Alex & Laetitia Katapult of course. Dure Vie vous offre des invitations !

Xosar, under her real name Sheela Rahman , is a lunar and supernatural being, an emerging underground it-girl, with a planetary radiation. She is the angel of the bizarre which brings us in a sci-fi odyssey where her music full of cerebral undulations resonates on spectral sound mixes of deep techno, minimal, nerd techno, ambient and aerial electro. The mysterious Xosar began to mix in 2011, just after her neuropsychology studies. She releases her first album Tropical Cruize on L.I.E.S., a label on which Legowelt had already venture. The couple used to be known as Trackman Lafonte & Bonquiqui (alias the Surfer House), on DJ TLR’s label, Crème Organization: their video clip A Paradise So Real is a mix of freestyle and cyberpunk. Xosar is also a self-taught graphic designer and produced acid-colored artworks used for her EPs on Rush Hour and Crème labels, then for artists such as Skrillex amongst others.
Her second EP entitled Ghosthouse is released on the flagship label Rush Hour. Then come the hits Calling, Voodoo Castle (feat. backing vox from Legowelt) or Nite Jam full of dub chords, deep bass and spectral filtered atmosphere. A unique and enchanting style.
Wolfers and Sheela work now under the aegis Xamiga, darker tracks, an exploration with paranormal glimmers. This project embraces Oceania which gathers a 3-track EP full of aquatic combinations: Xosheeba + Oceania +Atlantis Force Code, recently released on the label M-Division.

This cat-eyed elfic creature is taken straight out from a gothic galaxy where memory beyond the grave likes dark appearances and the call of heavenly sounds.
Her long wandering through dark forest helps her canalize the energy of nature and its symbols. She produces a deep techno sound sensual, exotic, with singular musical colors. The witch casts a spell on us and makes us drink her Elixir of Dreams (produced after her renowned concert in Detroit and her long rovings in the deserted and ghostly streets of the city), which opens the fantasy door. Welcome to her strange paradise.
She samples her voice ringing out in psychedelic choirs, often remixed by Legowelt who brings an oscillating movement to the mixes. This is the cosmic flow, we are in the heart of one wave. Our souls float below to the rhythms of bass and claps. Their echoes strike the foggy chants of Indian goddesses. The synth line is dark and psychedelic, the basses are gothic, the beats spellbinding. It is a mystical aural landscape in the branch of parallel forces of a ghost house in Detroit.
Xosar appreciates being surrounded by books about occultism, shamanism and paranormal. The sounds sought through old analog synths (a Jupiter-8 and her precious Electribe ESX sampler) confirmed this belief and fascination.
Indeed, these machines create mind-blowing tapes, conceived to fill the atmosphere up, which according to her “helps humanity to increase its level of consciousness”.
She lives in this supernatural realm, inhabited by tigers and crystals. For that matter, she owns a tiger that lives in Tennessee in the south of United States.
Xosar was invited in Paris the 13th July on the River’s King’s barge for the Katapult Summer Boat organized by the label Karat, alongside the prestigious Acid Arab. The DJ comes back in the capital for a live prestation this Saturday at the Rex Club in company with Legowelt, MZKBX and Alex & Laetitia Katapult of course.
